Kingston's favorite blues and jazz lady, Juno nominee Georgette Fry formed a female choir in Kingston in September 2002. Originally named "That Choir", Georgette renamed the choir "Shout Sister!" to reflect the joyful intensity that the choir exudes in their performances. In December 2005 a Picton chapter was formed, and the Brockville chapter formed in March 2006. The newest chapters formed in Ottawa Centre in November 2009, followed by Ottawa W. and Belleville in February, 2010.  Public performance was not an original intention for the choir, but demand has taken them to a number of venues. They have appeared on the Vinyl Café's Christmas show in Kingston, for Stephen Lewis during his speaking tour, for Tom Jackson's food bank tour, the Kingston Blues Festival, and in December 2008 they opened for the world famous "Nylons". They take their practices to area senior's facilities throughout the year.
